No. You can browse and read stories without an account. To submit a story or join a community circle, you will need to register — but you may do so anonymously.
Yes. Unmuted is completely free for all users. We are funded by donations, grants, and mission-aligned partnerships. We will never put stories behind a paywall.
Absolutely. When you choose anonymous, your IP, device identifiers, and all personal metadata are stripped. Even our moderation team cannot trace the submission back to you.
Most stories are reviewed within 24–48 hours. During high-volume periods, this may extend to 72 hours. You will receive a notification when your story is published or if we have questions.
Yes. You retain full ownership of your story. Request edits or permanent deletion at any time by contacting us at [email protected] with your story title.
Published stories are visible to the public by default. You may choose to limit visibility to registered community members only during submission. Anonymous stories display no identifying information.
